Cobargo students didn't miss a beat for their SCLC performance! On Wednesday 8th August, 32 djembe drummers travelled to Bega for the Sapphire Coast Learning Community Performing Arts Festival. Their hard work and dedication to their weekly practises definitely paid off, as their hands hit those djembes with absolute precision and outstanding timing.
The students presented two medley items, which included West African rhythms, chants and songs. Beaming smiles on the stage said it all, as our wonderful Cobargo Public School students delivered a charged and polished performance. Colt and Flynn were outstanding DUNDUN players and layered rhythms to Sinte, Kassagbe and Rhythm 99.
Cobargo students also performed in the combined choir item, Turn the Beat Around and the combined recorder group performed a beautiful item, Different Worlds, from their recent Opera House performance.
